[Spanish governing party] PP has a new logo which can be seen at the PP website.
José María Desfilis, 03 Feb 2003
The Popular Party (Partido Popular) in government in Spain 1996-2004 adopted a modified version of its logo on 10 December 2001. The new version places both P's at the same level, altering slightly the font used, and the seagull's edges have been softened. The logo was originally designed in 1989 and was modified in 1993. Sources: press release [broken link] at the party website and an article [broken link] in El País newspaper. The party's flag is not mentioned but since it is a white flag with the party's emblem, we can assume that the flag has changed as well. Using an image from the party website I have made a tentative GIF.

The currently ruling Partido Popular changed its logo shortly before the 1996 general elections, moving the bird (an albatros) from below the capital letters to above them. At the time it was explained as a symbol to rise morale for the oncoming electoral victory (which by the way took place).
M. V. Blanes, 24 January 2000
M.V.Blanes' comments is partly incorrect in that the PP, as far as I know, has never used the logo with the seagull below the letters; it did however use the first one shown.

I am not very sure of the dimensions of the logo. I believe there is another version of the PP flag with the full name instead of just the initials.

Alianza Popular (Popular Alliance) was a conservative party founded in March 1977, which in January 1989 became the currently governing Partido Popular.
